Thank You

I had so much fun Sunday during our first ever Family Day Celebration!  It was wonderful to have friends and family in worship, to see all the children (both the young ones and not so young ones) playing games and having fun, and as always the meal was wonderful!  Thank you to everyone who made a dish, decorated, brought prizes, made preparations for the day, and cleaned up. A special thank you to Pat Bell for emceeing the games and Nancy Jones for all the work she did to make the day such a success.  A special thanks also goes out to Nothing Bundt Cakes for their generous donation of 9 dozen mini bundt cakes for our cakewalk. They were delicious! I want those of you who shared your heartfelt words with me about what your family and church family mean to you to know that they were a blessing to us all.   It is evident that so many people have found a family here at Bethel.

Thank you to those leaders who shared about our outreach ministries.  Sometimes we forget just how much we have going on here at our little church.  This coming week the Preschool and Parents Day Out will be starting back to school.  If you know any children age 3-5 years old who might join the group please let Nita Peyton know because there are a few spots still available.  The 4-H Lucky Charms will gear back up soon and meet one Saturday a month for robotics and one Saturday a month for regular meetings. If you know any school age children who would like to join contact Reginald Boyce.  The PW will begin meeting soon and we are always collecting items for the local food pantry especially paper goods. This month we will be fixing a meal for 170 seniors through OBC3. We will need lots of volunteers and donations to make sure these members of our community receive a hot meal!  Please see Ruby Owens for additional information. We will also be volunteering in October at the First Presbyterian Memphis Soup Kitchen. Thank you to Jennifer from Methodist Hospital Olive Branch who shared about our new partnership with the Congregational Health Network of Methodist Hospital.  You may pick up a brochure in the church office that tells about our partnership and if you leave your information on the card we will return it to the hospital so that they know you are a member of Bethel and part of the network. Our partnership will also allow us to have educational events led by Methodist Hospital here at our church free of charge.  We look forward to what this new partnership holds in store.

There is a place for you to be involved and to serve here at Bethel and as we work, worship, learn, and play together let us do it in love because we are brothers and sisters in Christ.
