Hear God’s word from Isaiah 55,
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return there until they have watered the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
12 For you shall go out in joy,
and be led back in peace;
the mountains and the hills before you
shall burst into song,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands”.
Have you heard the saying someone is going to speak something into existence? It means that if you say something it may just happen. Now wouldn’t it be nice to say “I am going to have a million dollars” and poof there it is, I spoke it into existence. I don’t believe that is going to happen, but I do believe that our words are powerful. If we continually speak negative words than our lives will often become negative because our words reflect our thoughts and our thoughts control our actions. If we are consumed with worry and only focus on the things that are wrong with our lives, with the church, and with the world than we may become angry, resentful, or depressed. However, if we focus on the positive and speak words of encouragement, kindness, and love than our lives and our actions will reflect those words which we have spoken into existence. I encourage you to look for the good in the world and to speak words that will go out in joy and be led forth in peace.
