Our gospel lectionary reading today contains one of the most beloved passages in all of the Bible, John 3:16.  We know Christ’s words by heart, but today we will look at the context of Christ’s words and the circumstances that caused Jesus to say those words in the first place.  As we walk the familiar lenten road and hear once more the familiar words of our Lord may our hearts be turned toward God in a new way and may we repent of that which keeps us in the dark.
