Jesus’ words and teachings aren’t always easy for us to hear.  Jesus’ words were challenging for those closest to Jesus during his earthly life, the disciples, and are often just as challenging for us today.

We have been taught to value coming in first place of winning and sometimes at all costs.  Today, we hear Jesus tell us that if we want to be first we must be last.  This won’t be the last hard lesson that Jesus will teach, next week’s lesson might be even harder to hear.
