Today’s gospel lectionary text is a familiar story.  Sometimes when we hear a familiar story we make assumptions about not only what happens next in the account, but the meaning behind what we are hearing.  Luke recounts this time in Jesus’s ministry a bit differently than the other gospels, so listen with fresh ears and open hearts and minds to this familiar call story.
