Today we celebrate the Baptism of our Lord.  Today let us listen.  In the gospel reading from Matthew we can hear John calling from the river, Jesus speaking his first words recorded by Matthew, and God saying “This is my son, the Beloved.”  

May we once again commit ourselves to listen to God’s word during this new year.
