Today marks the first day of Holy Week. It is a Holy Week like none we have experienced before yet here we are getting ready to shout Hosanna in the Highest this Sunday and sing Glory Hallelujah at the empty tomb next Sunday. Let us not forget what happened during that first Holy Week though.
This morning you will hear both the Palm Sunday and Passion Sunday readings and be challenged to see just how much things can change in just a week. You will also hear beautiful music by Dave Caudill. You will hear music both before and after the sermon. You will hear Abide with Me recorded on the 48-bell Paccard carillon and Precious Lord on the organ. Thank you to both Dave and Chup Houston for all the lovely music they have provided over the past several weeks.
I encourage you to continue the Holy Week celebration each day this week through the lectionary readings. You will find the readings below. Please keep all those who are dealing with the effects of Covid-19 in your prayers. Remember those who have lost their lives, who are sick, those who mourn, caregivers, those on the front lines, those who have lost their jobs, and who are furloughed.
